A short video on equine biosecurity by the Horse Trust after which Derek Gardner AWCF will talk briefly about how the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth brought his business to a standstill.

Efficiency is based on technique, so working at the anvil is where the farrier can rest and have time to observe. This demo involved machine made and hand made shoes.

Blacksmithing Area

The Blacksmithing Demonstration Area will feature six incredibly talented blacksmiths showcasing skills and knowledge utilising everyday ‘farrier-familiar’ tools and will include the power hammer and fire-welding. Questions are warmly encouraged; ask the specifics and have a go! Create a “top-end outcome with little effort”!
