Understanding Horses Live
Understand Horses is holding a live event at ARU Writtle (formerly Writtle University College) and would like to offer a 10% discount for tickets to members of the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association.
Two days of lectures plus practical demos & training workshops on horse behaviour, physiology, training and welfare.
An international panel of equine experts – veterinary behaviourist Roxane Kirton, behaviour consultants / trainers Justine Harrison, Trudi Dempsey, Emma Lethbridge, Rosa Verwijs, Barbara Dreyer-Rowlands and Sam Couper, equine scientists Tamzin Furtado and Aline Bouquet, plus physiotherapist Holly Gallacher.
The Saturday lectures include: what’s new in behavioural management science; do horses love being ridden; the impact of artificial weaning; agonistic behaviours in wild horses; the challenges of managing equine obesity; how best to transport horses; improving horse training; interpreting horse behaviour.
Sunday’s practical demos and training workshops include: effective loading techniques; the science of measuring behaviour; the challenges of managing equine obesity; equine massage techniques; horse agility; equine scent work; surviving in the equine world.
Tickets are available for the whole weekend (Saturday & Sunday) or the Lecture Day (Saturday) only.
