The hoof and its impact on the horse above it

Event date: 13th September 2023 - 13th September 2023

Online webinar
(Available on-demand if you cannot watch live)

EVENT DESCRIPTION
The equine hoof is the very foundation of the horse. The strength and stability of the structures above it are directly related to its own strength and stability.

Educated, knowledgeable discussions between the whole team around the horse – owner, farrier, vet and physio are all much easier with a better understanding of the how the hoof effects the whole horse – this webinar will help you do just that.

We will be looking at the conformation of the equine foot, its shape, size and health, and the factors that influence these. What happens when the horn structures weaken, and what are the implications?

How does a poorly conformed foot affect the horse and what can we do to help it? How do the different shoeing and trimming styles of hoof care practitioners influence the horse in both the short, and long term? Learn how to recognise their impact on musculature and soft tissues, posture and gait, and how and what changes could be made to improve these.

If you watched our Compensation webinar, this follows on perfectly from that by focusing in on the foot and how optimal hoof care, trimming and shoeing can improve soundness and longevity.
