Click here to register (before 4pm, 26th July 2022).

As you may be aware, the FRC has launched a consultation and is inviting the farriery profession and members of the public – in particular horse owners – to comment on proposed changes to the ‘Standard of Proof used at Stage 1 of the Disciplinary Process’.

Further information regarding the Consultation (including the Consultation Paper) can be found on the FRC website – https://www.farrier-reg.gov.uk/news/consultation-on-standard-of-proof-used-at-stage-1-of-the-disciplinary-process.

The BFBA Executive Committee feel that it is incredibly important for farriers to both understand the proposed changes and be given the opportunity to ask further questions. It is for these reasons that you are invited to attend an online meeting on 26th July at 7.30pm. Past and present members of Council including Tom Smith (Chair FRC), Simon Moore, Derek Gardner, David Hall, Simon Curtis and Tom Burch have been invited to attend.  The session will be chaired by Mark Aikens. The consultation survey closes on 5th August 2022. We appreciate that this is short notice and therefore the session will be recorded and made available until the close of the consultation period.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions prior to the meeting taking place, although there will be an option to ask questions during the meeting this is to help ensure that we answer as many queries as possible. Please email questions to headoffice@bfba.co.uk.
