Are you struggling to find a training farrier, studying for a forging certificate or considering a career as a farrier? If you answered, yes, to any of these questions, there is an event at the end of October that could help.

The BFBA Executive Committee is delighted to confirm the ‘Pre-Farrier Test of Skills’ taking place at Focus this year over the weekend of 30th and 31st October at the Blackdown Halls at Stoneleigh Park.

This is a new opportunity for students to meet potential ATFs; introduce themselves, demonstrate their skills and get noticed!

The ‘Test of Skills’ is intended to be a fun opportunity; a chance to demonstrate forging capabilities. Entrants will be required to make one ‘test piece’ which will be confirmed in advance on Friday 22nd October. This piece will be forged from a coke fire. All participants must bring their own tools and provide their own PPE. Times for the competition will be published on 27th October.

Entrants are warmly encouraged to bring test pieces with them plus copies of their CV to hand to potential employers. This is an opportunity to get a step ahead and meet many ATFs in one location.

Entry is £5 per person and will include access to Focus on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Enter here online or call BFBA Head Office on 024 76 696595 by 22nd October 2021.

BFBA Focus can provide an unrivalled springboard to a career in farriery – visit the marketplace, listen to lectures and watch practical demonstrations.
