Forge & Farrier, For Farriers

Apprentice is looking for his replacement!

My name is Dylan Kirk I will be taking my Diploma in May.

My ATF is looking for a new apprentice to hopefully start in the new year.

The business is a small local establishment south of Chichester, West Sussex.

With well stocked forge and plenty of shoemaking opportunity, you will have a wide variety of horses, ponies and donkeys to learn your trade with!!!

From personal experience during the last 3 1/2 years I have found the best way to make progress is to listen from day one and do a task the way the ATF has demonstrated instead of your own way, there is always a reason why we follow a certain process every time.

The ATF is a keen competitor that's still passionate about the trade after 30+ years and is always there to give feedback and share his own knowledge both modern and traditional thought processes.

Candidates must be; committed to the trade, punctual (arriving late is a big no in this business), respectful, and to show initiative.

First point of contact would be a text message to myself on 07983536020 where we could arrange a phone call and have a chat and answer any questions you have about the apprenticeship (college wise or with the ATF) You must be available for a trial period in the immediate future. Accomodation can be arranged on site.

All the best Dylan Kirk.
