Alex Bignell- Looking for a Farriery apprenticeship

I am looking to start an apprenticeship in farriery.  I have just turned 21 and have very recently completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (craft and technician), which I have enjoyed.  I have also acquired many practical skills, but my passion remains to pursue a career in farriery.

Prior to this I attended Herefordshire College and successfully completed the level 2 Access to Farriery course and possess a forging certificate.  (I was awarded the Learner Award of Excellence).  I have plenty of work experience and was due to be signed up for a farriery apprenticeship, but this did unfortunately fall through due to a change in the ATF’s circumstances.

I have been working 6 days a week in order to continue working with horses every weekend and long hard work is nothing new to me. I have 5 years experience of working  with horses of all temperaments both in livery, racing and dressage.

I am very keen, enthusiastic and would love to hear from anyone who may have an opportunity in the near future.  I am based in Surrey but am happy to work anywhere in the UK.

I am happy to send my CV and references and would be very grateful if you would contact me.
