COVID-19: Welsh 'Firebreak Lockdown'

As you will be aware the Welsh Government confirmed on Monday 19th October that the country will enter a ‘firebreak lockdown’ from 6pm on Friday 23rd October until Monday 9th November. Similar to the COVID-19 lockdown in March earlier this year people have been ordered to stay at home and work from home wherever possible.

Following further guidelines published on the Welsh Government website the BFBA has sought clarification from the Farriers Registration Council (FRC) this afternoon to ensure farriers working in Wales can continue to provide essential hoofcare services.

The FRC have confirmed this evening that farriers are able to provide essential hoofcare services but should prioritise those equines with welfare needs.

Farriers are reminded that they should maintain social distancing and additional biosecurity measures at all times. Read the full statement from the FRC here.
