Lantra is delighted to announce they have been awarded the work to review the current National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Farriery.
NOS are important as they describe the specific skills and knowledge required for jobs within the industry. Please see the attached link to Lantra’s website which provides more information on NOS: https://www.frameworksandnos.lantra.co.uk/national-occupational-standards , how NOS are developed and the role that they play.
The project has now commenced, and meetings across the 4 devolved nations are being planned for September/October. The meetings will take the form of working groups who will discuss and review the NOS and consider any changes that may be required to reflect current industry practice in Farriery, throughout the four nations of the UK. It is important for industry to get involved in order to ensure a representative and robust consultation process working with Lantra to further the skill development of the sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to ensure the current NOS for the Farriery industry are relevant, accurate and an important benchmark for industry and qualifications across the UK. Click Here to see the link to the Farriery NOS database.
Lantra values your expertise and contribution and would invite you to help with the project, either in the groups or as part of the wider consultation.
