Today sees the experienced team of NAF vets and nutritionists strengthened with the appointment of Dr Andrew Richardson BVSc CertAVP (Equine Stud Medicine) MRCVS as the new Veterinary Director. As part of NAF’s commitment to developing and improving our products for the good of the horse, Andy will combine this new role with continuing to practice Equine Veterinary Medicine, providing an additional crucial link between horse owners and NAF.

Having graduated from Bristol University back in 2006, Andy brings with him a wealth of experience from all aspects of veterinary practice. Andy has worked within internationally renowned equine hospitals in Dubai, New Zealand and the UK before founding Wessex Equine Veterinary Practice in Wiltshire in 2011 with two other vets. The aim of the practice is to combine the skills of all of the practicing vets and use them to provide a high quality ‘first opinion’ service to their clients. The practice also strives to provide the latest up to date knowledge and equipment alongside a friendly service.

Andy has a particular interest in breeding and racing and in recognition of his expertise in these particular sectors, in 2013, Andy passed his RCVS examination in Equine Stud Medicine. He also works as part of the Goffs UK veterinary team, providing onsite care during their bloodstock sales in Doncaster. Andy is also established as an ambassador and customer of NAF, having already used the products for his own horses.

Utilising his knowledge and links, Andy will be creating and establishing the NAF Five Star Veterinary Panel which will see some of the leading equine vets in the UK come together to discuss their experiences and findings in practice. This panel of specialists will work together with NAF’s nutritional team to develop and improve products to ensure that the NAF range continues to fulfil the requirements of the horses that they are used for. This commitment to future development will see NAF continue to utilise a fresh and innovative approach whilst remaining market leaders for supplements and applications.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy said “NAF has over 30 years of experience formulating health products for the benefit of all types of horse – from children’s ponies to international competition athletes. Their expertise in the market is unparalleled and the opportunity to join the team is very exciting. I hope to be able to use the experience I have gained over the past 15 years in veterinary practice to assist the company’s continued drive for providing the most innovative and efficacious products that provide the solutions that horse owners need.”

Linda Porter, NAF Sales and Marketing Director, added “All of us at NAF are delighted to be welcoming Andy on board as our new Veterinary Director. His appointment only serves to bolster our team of vets and nutritionists who are dedicated to the creation and development of products that truly offer the very best to each and every horse.
“The development of the NAF Five Star Veterinary Panel is an area of particular excitement for us as we very much believe in being hands on with the experts out in the field and the panel will also be critical to the future advancements of NAF and our products. We are already looking forward to sharing our new areas of knowledge with our customers.”
